Ziggy Attias is an artist who primarily works in metals, semi-precious stones, bone and horn.  His designs are influenced by his on-going fascination with western and eastern religions including popular symbolism.  He currently designs and manufactures hand made sterling silver jewelry and sculpture in his Southampton, NY studio.

Ziggy’s artistic path began when he established Ziggy Originals NYC, a line of avant-garde jewelry that has been prominently featured in magazines, fashion shows, music videos, and movies. Ziggy Originals NYC also landed on the covers of Rolling Stone, Details and Seventeen. His designs are a favorite of stylists and have been photographed and worn by well known Hollywood stars, models and musicians.

His current one man exhibition of sculptures, The Art of the Cross, can be viewed at The National Museum of Catholic Art and History in New York City. Ziggy has also been chosen by The White House as the sole artist representing New York State for their 2007 Easter Display.  

Under Ziggy Films, the film production company he established in 1996, Ziggy has directed, and edited two acclaimed award winning documentary films which debuted on PBS.  Traveling the Distance (1997) chronicles the Shinnecock Indian’s 50th Anniversary Pow-Wow on Long Island’s East end. The New York Times calls the film "...an important anthropological reference." and Ride on Brother (2001), is about the cathartic cross country bicycle journey of seven NYC firefighters in the wake of 9/11, for which Ziggy was applauded in a personal letter by President Bush, "…I commend your work to document this remarkable bike tour which reflects the true spirit of our country".
           
           Currently his short narrative film, The Father, Unblinking (2006)which he produced, edited and directed is touring the film festival circuit and has won many prizes in the “Best Short Film” category.

            Ziggy lives in Southampton, NY with his wife Stacey, and their three daughters, Falon, India and Lily Bleu.
